We have got some great information for you today about the real estate industry as a whole. A few months ago, we had the opportunity to attend the National Association of Realtor's 2014 Real Estate Summit. There were brokers, managers, and owners from all different types of real estate companies around the country, and the world.

It was a great event, and we are able to interact with some of the true visionaries today in real estate. So, today we would like to share with you some interesting facts that were presented to us at the summit that we think you will find helpful.

First off, the median age of Realtors has risen dramatically in the last 5 years, from 46 in 2009 to 57 in 2014. The percentage of Realtors over the age of 65 has also increased in the past 5 years, from 13% to 25%. The percentage of Realtors under the age of 40 has also slipped to just 11%. To put this in perspective, the average age of all american workers is right around 41.

One of the questions we get asked all the time is "Is now a good time to get into the real estate business?" We  say yes. Based on percentages, companies are going to need to hire more agents. A shortage is also developing in the number of brokers and managers that will be needed.

We recommend that anybody who has a real estate license take a broker course and be in position to become a manager/broker. Not only is this a good time for people to get in the real estate business, but a great time for people to progress in their real estate business as well.

If you have any questions for us, feel free to call or send a quick email. We can't wait to hear from you!

How do you Find Great Employees in Real Estate?

How to hire the best agents for your real estate businessThe economy and the real estate market have both been improving lately and with that growth in business, comes the need to recruit new team members. We are seeing a lot of people flock to the real estate industry today and as a broker, you want to recruit the cream of the crop.

Over the past 3 years, there has been an average increase of 8% a year for real estate sales. As a broker, it is important that you think about recruiting people outside the industry as well as seasoned agents. Some seasoned agents may have bad habits that are hard to correct, so bringing in a fresh face with little experience gives you the opportunity to train them to conduct business the way you want to conduct business.

At The Career Academy of Real Estate, we can act as the school for real estate brokers and their companies. We will even pay you a referral fee for referring people that take our courses and putting up a link on your site. This is an advantage for you because you don't have to set up a real estate school.

If you have any questions at all, don't hesitate to give us a call or send us an email. We would love to help out!

What Should you Look for in a Broker?

Today we are going to go over some more tips on how to choose the right broker to work with and get your business into high-gear.

How to choose the right brokerWhen you start talking to brokers, ask them for an opportunity to visit their sales meeting or ask to go on a caravan with them. The whole point of this exercise is to see what the work environment is like and how the people you work with are.

One thing to be sure to ask is if they have a mentoring program. Is there going to be someone in the office to help you out as you begin your career? Even the best training isn't sufficient if you don't have someone you can turn to as you are starting your career.

If you have any questions for us about how to choose the right broker, please feel free to call us. We will get right back to you.

How to Avoid Choosing the Wrong Broker

Over the next few months, we are going to be giving some hints for our pre-licensed students about how to choose a broker and how to get your business in high-gear. We are going to offer you some tips about choosing the right broker that we hope you will find helpful.

How to choose the right brokerWhen choosing a real estate broker to work with, the first thing to do is remember that you are interviewing them, not the other way around. Think about things that you want to ask and questions that are important to you to make sure you are the right fit for them.

Another important aspect to consider is finding the right office environment. You want to be in a place where you feel you fit into the culture best. Each office has its own personality and you want to be in a place where you are comfortable.

Finally, one of the most important aspect of any brokerage company is their training. Once you have your license and are ready to get out in the world, it's very important for you to be with a structured company so you'll get off to a good start.

Thanks for watching. If you have any questions, be sure to give us a call or send us an email so we can get right back to you.

How we helped Mudiwa pass his broker exam with our course preparation

"I really enjoyed that it was a course preparation. I was able to take the course and pass the test the first time, which was incredibly important to me because I didn’t want to take it over and over again. After I had completed the proctored course exam, I had a one-on-one session with Donnis Palmer and we were able to come up with the best strategy to pass the exam. The study guide was spot on and I think the on- on-one session was the most important part."
